August 17-20

Hey guys, welcome back! First of all, I just want to let you all know that my CD is so, so close to being finished! All that stands in the way are a few housekeeping things and a photo shoot! Woo! This past week, I had 5 gigs in 4 days! Keep reading if you want to know more about the performances.

8/17: The Twisted Cork

I am at the Twisted Cork on every 3rd Wednesday night and this was one of those nights! The place was poppin', especially for a middle-of-the-week-night. I always enjoy entertaining for the TC and this night was no different! My favorite part is seeing the owners, Momma Sue and Prentice, and all the regulars (and can't forget our canine friend, Lucy). I'll be back at the Cork on September 21st! Y'all come out! It's always a GREAT time!

8/18: Laurel County Homecoming

This was my second year performing at Laurel County's Homecoming event. I played on Thursday night right after the pageant. I played an hour set with John (my percussionist) and I have to say, we rocked it out! A huge shoutout is in order to Oasis Entertainment for hooking me up with some great sound!

8/19: Elks Lodge

This was my first time playing at the Elks Lodge in Winchester. I got in contact with the Elk Lodge when a member saw me performing at the Beer Cheese Festival earlier this year. I didn't know what to expect, but those guys sure were a blast! When I first arrived at the lodge, I discovered that we forgot to pack a microphone stand so I ran around looking for something, anything, to use as a makeshift stand. After about 10 minutes of no luck, John went out to his truck and brought back a camera tripod. I wasn't certain it would work, but it was all we had. Then, we tried to find a way to secure the mic onto the camera tripod. My mom went out to the car to look for string or tape and she came back with a pair of ear plugs with the plastic string on worked. After laughing about that for a long while, I played for around 2 hours. I look forward to going back to the Elk Lodge next month! Check "shows" to see the date!

8/20: Artisan Festival

This was also my second year playing at the Artisan Festival in Natural Bridge State Park. I am pleased to announce that it had grown even bigger than last year! Although the weather wasn't so great, there were still a ton of people and vendors there! I entertained from 2:00-3:00 and there were people who remembered me from last year! That is always such a great feeling! Ethan from WSKV 104.9 ran sound and, as always, did a killer job! After my set, I just had to get a pulled pork sandwich from Skeeter's Steak and BBQ. It was just as tasty as last year.

8/20: Community Days

After I finished my delicious pulled pork and my mom bought a six foot grapevine tree (lol) we headed on up the road to Salyersville to open for Halfway to Hazard! First of all, let me say that I am so honored and humbled to be a part of such an amazing lineup! I am still blown away by this. These artist are some of the best and I have so much respect for them! To just see my name on the same flyer is really crazy for me!

I wasn't scheduled to sing until 7:00, but I was invited to a cookout where some of the entertainers could hang out and eat a little before going on stage. By the time the cookout was over, the rain was coming down. And coming down hard.. I sloshed through the muck and the mud and made my way to the stage. I was really worried that people would pack up and go home before I got on stage but to my surprise, the awesome people of Magoffin County stuck it out in their ponchos! I played a 45 minute set and, of course, had to change up the set list a little and do CCR's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain." Shortly after I played, Halfway to Hazard took the stage. If you have never heard of Halfway to Hazard, go right now. Seriously, exit out of my page (I won't be upset) and google them! They are oh so talented and the best part---from Kentucky! Some of my favorites from them are Daisy, Countrified, and Takin' Me On. As always, I really enjoyed listening to Chad and David and the rest of their band!

Thank you for stopping by again this week and supporting my music journey!
